This stylish, 21-bottle wine refrigerator is manufactured by NewAir, a company that specializes in home appliances and cooling units. This top-of-the-line wine cooler features two independent temperature zones with accessible controls that allow you to chill your whites and reds separately. The dual zones are an incredibly useful feature because wine that is served too cold affects the flavor and aroma, while serving wine that is too warm can cause a stronger alcohol taste.

The NewAir AW-210ED provides superior cooling compared to other single and dual zone wine fridges and stores your wine at optimal serving temperatures. The upper zone holds up to six bottles and the lower zone holds up to 15 bottles. The temperature range for both zones is a generous 44 to 66 degrees Fahrenheit.

The most striking feature is that this unit, including the door, is covered in black, giving it a sleek, sophisticated look. Each zone has its own door, a great feature not included on most dual zone coolers. By having an individual door for each zone you avoid letting the cool air escape from both zones when you open the door. The doors are made with insulated, UV-protective glass to help keep harmful light away from your bottles and reduce energy waste.

The sleek black housing and interior of this cooler is complemented by the blue interior LED lights that give off a soft, harmless glow. This light makes it easier to see your bottle labels and looks much more elegant than a harsh, yellow light bulb.

This NewAir wine cooler uses an incredibly quiet thermoelectric cooling system. Each zone has its own fan unit that removes the warm air, maintaining a steady temperature within a degree or two, despite external temperature fluctuations. This cooling system is energy efficient and cools without environmentally unsound CFC coolants. A great benefit of thermoelectric systems is that they run almost vibration free, eliminating disruptions to the aging process. Vibrations can stir up sediment that can pollute the flavor.

Thermoelectric cooler systems work best when they are placed in an environment that has a mild, constant temperature. While they can work in warm or hot climates, be sure to keep them out of direct sunlight and rooms that experience constant temperature fluctuations, like the garage or deck. You will need to ensure the NewAir AW-210ED has enough clearance around it, especially in the rear so the warm air can be properly expelled from the fan units. We are particularly impressed with how NewAir wine coolers consistently keep their set temperatures within 2 degrees.

As long as you use this wine fridge within the manufacturer’s regulations for ambient temperature and provide adequate air circulation, it’s very unlikely that you will have any problems with this wine cooler performing its function quietly and efficiently. If you do happen to have any problems with your wine refrigerator holding the desired temperature, check to see if it just needs better air clearance or if the fans need to have their blades cleared of any dust.

The NewAir AW-210ED has independent push-button controls for each of the zones, making it easy to adjust the temperature to the precise degree you want. Also, the interior LED lights controls are conveniently located adjacent to the temperature controls, and there are digital displays to indicate the current zone temperatures.

This NewAir wine cooler is more versatile than most wine fridges that only accommodate standard-sized bottles. The scalloped wire racks can hold bottles of varying sizes, meaning that the actual storage capacity is pretty close to the advertised capacity no matter what size of bottles you store. So you won't have to remove shelves to make room for bigger bottles or wedge them in at awkward angles. Also, this NewAir cooler is deep enough to allow for longer bottles as well. You can also purchase classy wooden replacement shelves if you want to increase the sophistication of this cooler.
